My interest in photography began as a teenager, experimenting in the school darkroom before moving on to summer work experience with a local newspaper in Kent. I later worked part-time in a photographic studio and high-street lab, and became an active member of Sheppey Camera Club.

I started with a Russian Zenit 35mm film camera—fully manual and unforgiving—a world away from today’s technology. From there I moved to a Canon EOS 1000FN, and later a Canon EOS 500 paired with a Sigma 24mm lens, continuing to shoot on 35mm film.
My transition into digital photography began with the Olympus system - (E-300), using 11–22mm and 50mm lenses. This marked a turning point, giving me both the quality and flexibility I was looking for, and allowing my creativity to expand. The Panasonic GF1 followed—a compact but capable camera that delivered excellent results while remaining compatible with Olympus lenses. I moved onto a Nikon systems shortly afterwards - capturing images on and off over the next 14 years with the D7000.   I moved to a smaller mirrorless system in 2025 after being introduced to street photography by YouTube influences and photographers. Today I shoot with the OM systems OM5 and the Olympus EM1, mk3.  I’ve obtained various lenses while I’ve embarked on my new venture into street photography.
My photographic style has shifted. What began with landscapes and urban scenes has naturally evolved into street photography. I’m now drawn to fleeting moments, light, gesture, and the quiet narratives that unfold in everyday life. The city has become my canvas—less about place, more about people, rhythm, and timing.
I take photographs for the simple enjoyment of it and share them in the hope others find something in them too. Without the pressures of working professionally in photography, I have the freedom to explore, experiment, and follow what catches my eye. From capture through to processing, I value having full control over the final image.
I was born on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, obtained some GCSE’s and A-Levels and  completed studies at Ravensbourne College—where I earned an HND in Television Systems Engineering—I moved into the world of outside broadcasting spend 23 years at Visions / NEP, working across a wide range of live productions in light entertainment, concert and festivals and major sporting events in the UK and World Wide.
I now work freelance in the television industry as a Broadcast Engineer. It’s a world where systems must work, deadlines are absolute, and technology is constantly evolving—from HD to UHD, and into HDR. That structured, technical environment sits in quiet contrast to my photography, where observation, patience, and instinct take over.
I’m married, one son and a Beagle.
